The delay is intentional. MajorMUD uses deferred execution via TASKS & SYSCYC within MajorBBS/Worldgroup to handle player actions and events. I suspect this was done so that intensive tasks could be run in cycles outside of processing user input as to not make the board feel "slow". Fo...
