Galacticomm BBS Support Messages

Post by Milton »

Since all assets have been bought, any chance of importing Old Galacticomm support messages from their BBS from the 1990's?
Found a phone # from archive text file I made years with Gcomm's Dial-up BBS - 583-7808.

Indeed, there is a backup somehwere of the original galacticomm demo bbs and when things settle down a bit I will look into resurrecting them for historical purposes.

<kicks myself in the a$$> i actually had a copy but it was for version 6.0 and was loaded with all sorts of cool stuff.
left it in maryland...... it was a zipped up drive of the demo/support galacticomm bbs for ver 6.0 with full development
codes for everything. (ok so i cheated and converted my galgsbl.dll to 256 using register.exe) but man it had some
cool stuff in there. using bbsbtr.c i was able to more understand what the btrieve calls were since we had no dev docs anymore.
Rick actually has that archive just not sure if he knows what it is. for someone who messed around with gcomm software for years
it was a big time for me to see all that cool stuff.

my initial game engine used btrieve and i used the bbsbtr.c and bbsstf.h to figure out the query calls.
plus Major Database source was there and really helped me out.

OFF TOPIC: for this majormud thing there was a sample source floating around galctx maybe? it
showed how to do full screen data editing using FSE. gonna need that to mimic the major mud
character creation. only other game i recall that used it was the rose.
