8 packs for WG 3.2
Does anyone have a copy of an 8 pack disk from Galacticomm for their Worldgroup 3.2 ? I can't find the original binaries distributed with the 8 packs for the NT version for some reason - I have the key gens, of course, but not the release artifacts. GO figure.

Maybe you can add a sticky to keep this at the top of this forum.Questman wrote:Does anyone have a copy of an 8 pack disk from Galacticomm for their Worldgroup 3.2 ? it's just a hack. prolly has a virus in it also.rmaniac wrote:I am not using it for anything. Just stumbled across it and this post. Was not exactly sure if it was anything important.
someone bought all the wg and mbbs stuff he could find and is servicing people. a lot of hacks had virus or worms in them. one day you turn on your computer and all the web sites that come up are porn sites. and they read your contact list and send porn to all your friends too.
Re: 8 packs for WG 3.2
contacting my source now, but i do believe 3.2 just uses codes to control line counts, 3.0 was the last NT binary to use packs.Questman wrote:Does anyone have a copy of an 8 pack disk from Galacticomm for their Worldgroup 3.2 ? I am pretty sure you are right actually. If that is the case then maybe once verified this thread should be unstickied and left for dead.dspain wrote: contacting my source now, but i do believe 3.2 just uses codes to control line counts, 3.0 was the last NT binary to use packs.
Re: 8 packs for WG 3.2
yep, 3.2 is all license code controled.dspain wrote:contacting my source now, but i do believe 3.2 just uses codes to control line counts, 3.0 was the last NT binary to use packs.Questman wrote:Does anyone have a copy of an 8 pack disk from Galacticomm for their Worldgroup 3.2 ? Re: 8 packs for WG 3.2
yep, 3.3 is all license code controled. 3.2 is not and requires the 8 pack NT binary install. I wanted to increase my 3.2nt licence count and Questman was unable to generate the 8 pack as he is missing a file for for the install disk.frcorey wrote:yep, 3.2 is all license code controled.dspain wrote:contacting my source now, but i do believe 3.2 just uses codes to control line counts, 3.0 was the last NT binary to use packs.Questman wrote:Does anyone have a copy of an 8 pack disk from Galacticomm for their Worldgroup 3.2 ? I ran worldgroup 3.2 for years and got a 16 line license CODE from Don and Nate, this was before rick bought the rights to worldgroup. plus I have the source code to the main running system and it does NOT need a addon dll for 3.2 worldgroup.
Are you sure you don't mean 3.0 or 3.1?

as he could not find or is missing a file to generate 8 packs for 3.2nt .
Rick would be more help than me, as to what he needs for 3.2nt user count upgrades.

yeah the database he uses is a 32bit application .... you can either generate one randoly for a new customer or enter a specific reg# abd # of lines to unlock.frcorey wrote:wierd cause I got a 16 line code from nate at netvillage years ago. just a code typed on a piece of paper.Stoneslinger76 wrote:I ran 3.2 NT up to the time Rick posting of the sticky. [Reg#82644801] [Line Count:256]
[Activation Code:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]
i have the 16bit version before Jack spiced it into the new age where it was 16bit command line.
'Usergen blah blah' to create line count codes
could also patch a galgsbl.dll to a specific line count.
'register blah blah' to patch galgsbl.dll and majorbbs.exe
i actually have the earlier source codes in my private archives to those 2
gcomm in-house utilities and they were a great help in creating the developer offline util to Tele-Arena in pulling reg info from galgsbl.dll and wgserver.exe
guy dropped off a 211mb file to me years ago and come to find out it was an original galacticomm developer hard-drive image taken right after the release of worldgroup 1.00 and before 1.01
was loaded with the entire source as well as copies of emails from everyone during the majorbbs - worldgroup 1 era
all the apps, games, ico, you name it.
and let me just tell ya the developers back then knew how to write code and the stuff i learned just from browsing that code was very instrumental in my Tele-Arena addon.
especially the btrieve stuff in btvdll.c

well, you were lucky enought to read code from the original creators, plus thier ideas and thoughts.dspain wrote:yeah the database he uses is a 32bit application .... you can either generate one randoly for a new customer or enter a specific reg# abd # of lines to unlock.frcorey wrote:wierd cause I got a 16 line code from nate at netvillage years ago. just a code typed on a piece of paper.Stoneslinger76 wrote: I ran 3.2 NT up to the time Rick posting of the sticky. only original code I have was rick's port of quest of the alchemists from a 5.x port to a 6.xx port.
and it's still sort of buggy. I like the games with the internal location tables better than the ones with the seperate location file, alla kyrandia style.
Re: 8 packs for WG 3.2
yeah only downside to WG databasing is there isnt really alot of docs on the btrieve commands so its more of trial and error.frcorey wrote:well, you were lucky enought to read code from the original creators, plus thier ideas and thoughts.dspain wrote:yeah the database he uses is a 32bit application .... you can either generate one randoly for a new customer or enter a specific reg# abd # of lines to unlock.frcorey wrote: wierd cause I got a 16 line code from nate at netvillage years ago. just a code typed on a piece of paper.

what bugs are you having with your port? for my own educational purposes i ported several gcomm code to NT like robowars, all the entertainment addons, major-database, and so much more and learned a ton of tricks with NT porting.

wg3.2 codes
Not true I have bought new codes from nate way back when,he would have a line increase special and i would buy them.
Wg 3.20 uses a code generator for line increases
I have 4 different line counts that adds more lines each time
I hope this helps,I know they had the code generator, they just didnt want you to get it......

Re: wg3.2 codes
thats what I thought, all I ever had to do to upgrade lines was change license code. if you tryed to open more lines than your license code it just would ignore them.banjaxster wrote:Not true I have bought new codes from nate way back when,he would have a line increase special and i would buy them.

Oh no, Virii and worms! If only there was an app to detect such malicious baddies...
frcorey, you should go apply for a job with Homeland Security man, you seem perfectly willing to use fear, intimidation, and blatent untruths to further your agenda.
You forgot to mention that the crack / keygens also fund terrorism! They use $0.oo of the $0.oo you paid for the crack / keygen to fun terrorism and grow poppy seeds to make heroin to addict our children and control / incarcerate minorities! Remember boys and girls, Cracks Kill!
I think the bbs community, at least the SysOp community, as well as those who have found their way here, are most likely quite apt at the computer sciences in general. Rather than trying to push whatever agenda you have, be it most likely sucking up to the guy who bought out Major, maybe you should just tell people the truth and appeal to their better nature.
Since the majority of people running a board are doing it from dos, which is difficult to get on the network and leech from, unix which rarely gets virii, or windows, which is most likely already set up to protect against such malicious code as virii and trojans, I think it would be highly unlikely that anyone here would recommend, let alone post a file containing any malicious content. Even if they did, it would not go unnoticed, and the user would be instantly chastised.
since nobody else called shananagains on you, I figured I had to pipe up.
GO TSA! Molest that BBS SysOp! He is supporting Terrorism with his crack!

I just said my antivirus reported them. and deleted them. I wish I saved the report thou. `I am all for cracks, if no one owns or cares about software anymore. when Questman bought all that wg and mbbs software I deleted all the cracks I had for everything he bought.Info-Seeker wrote:Oh no, Virii and worms!
