Worldlink address?

I know, it sounds like there have been issues with the worldlink servers going down, but i'd still like to get things setup for when theyre back.

What's the address of the worldlink server(s)?

You will want to limit the number of attempts to connect so you dont get bombarded with no connect messages.

I forgot this morning you need the .dll update from Questman or it wont work. I think the server resides at another location which is under renovation, Questman will correct me if I am mistaken.

The server is down now, that could easily be the cause of your problem.

Until they get the new server up and running, you can use the server at worldlink.netvillage.com. Not a lot of systems connected to it right now but there are a few.

Odd. There are 5 boards connected right now, including mine. Maybe a typo or a problem in your config somewhere. Have you ever been able to connect before?

Hi Everyone, this is Southerncross for Hated Reality. I am interested in joining the Worldlink as well. I have put the new DLL changed the phone number to wordlink.majorbbs.com but I cannot connect to it. Is there another setting I am missing?

Try using worldlink.themajorbbs.com as the address. That's the one I'm using and it seems to be working fine. Not sure if it matters, but I have the channel set to 01 ff and left the baud rate at 0. It also appears you have it set to connect from 12:03am to 12:03am. Try 0000 2359.

I put the file from here on and I get the abort cannot connect to 0 and this when i log on to the board;

Try useing ALT-W from the sysop console and see if that connects. The schedule set from 00:10am to 23:59, it take midnight maintenance a few min to run so leave 5-10 min after midnight or 00:00. Be sure to create one for each day of the week and the adress of the server is correct. Also check that you have a channel set in CFG for worldlink, I use the last one in my node count. Also see "Dialing Variables" are set correctly:

USers= YES or no I run it set to yes.
# b4=0
Key= Demo
Include = Yes
disonnect= 10

Logoff=0
Hayes=ATDT
X.25=W

Hope that helps you get connected.

Router shouldn't matter. I would imagine most, if not all of us, are behind routers. Are you able to connect manually from the Worldlink menu? If not, what kind of message is it giving for not connecting?

Your scheduler is now set up to connect at 2359 and disconnect at 0000. Probably need to change that to 0000 2359 or you'll only connect for one minute a day. I don't think it lets you roll over the day past midnight. To stay connected after midnight, you have to schedule to connect at 0000 or later the next day. So 0000 2359 connects at midnight and disconnects at 1159pm.

I also set my retries to 200 to make sure it connects. Sometimes takes up to 20 tries. And while you have worldlink.themajorbbs.com set as your dialing number in the scheduler, it is not defined in the phone number section. You only have netvillage and elwynor listed there. Make sure to put it there too, and set channels to 01 to ff.

reverse the 2359 0000 time setting to 0001 to 2359 (keeps it in the same day) It would be good to remove the NV and elwynor connection settings as they are not used and it will call the 1st one listed.

Also pop into CFG and check the WL settings in thier are2 area's for configuration. Be sure things are set right mainly your BBS name, webpage and a few other simple settings.
DOMTYPE= Domain
etc etc
MAINDIR=WORLDLNK

If it still wont work try setting the channel LOW HIGH to use the last 2 channels on your licence ie 256 user would be low 255 high 256.

Your router shouldn't make a differance as long as you can telnet out, try a telnet out from the sysop console login (use the N for network) If not enable telnet out with SYSOP security level set.

Think we found the issue, I cannot telent out, why we are timing out.
How do you set it to telnet out from your bbs, I been running it for 10 plus years with people able to come in but not telnet out.

reduce number of channels from 255 to 200, worldgroup needs tcp handles to telnet out.

Also check the settings of your telnet server to make sure you are allowing users to telnet. Set to "yes" and then key it to sysop only.
