Tele-Arena BETA Testers Needed
Well all as you have heard for close to a year now i have been redeveloping TA for use with the WG platform.
well interesting enough i have finally gotten to a point to take in some beta testers on my live system.
let me define what i mean as in beta tester.
you have no access to code or binaries to install on your own server you will have access to logon my live system and enter the game as a gameop/builder and help test the many editors and ensure they all work good.
i have eliminated the need for a secondary windows editor and all game edits are now done on the fly with no need to reboot the system.
there are 2 levels of beta testing positions.
1) Design Level
------------------
you will be adding areas,spells,items,etc...... this will allow me to see the editors in action and pick up any problems.
to keep the databases from getting out of hand with your own visions of a ta world im gonna use the stock world as a perfect testing ground since most everyone remembers that one.
each tester will be responsible for their own area of the game rather it be the items, or the spells, etc....
you must be extremely familiar with the ta game and original concepts,design,etc....
pm me if interested serious inquiries only.
2) Player Level
-----------------
i will be seeking 8 testers to come on as players. each player will be using a single class and can have only one account.
this will allow me to see the game being played in action and pick up any problems with the routines.
since i rewrote the entire code doing my best to not dupe any bugs from the original i could have also added some bugs of my own
designer testers i prefer to be sysops who have ran the original before and i will discuss it with elwynor technologies a nice way to compensate yall in the end.
player testers will be allowed to keep their tested characters on the official server however PVP will be disabled from them to keep balance and fairness to the newbies coming along.
lots have changed in my version but all for the best, lots of new features and additions and i will be posting the entire change log and bug fix list on my web site.
anyone interested please pm me and i will discuss it with you as well as the date i will go online with my live system.
this game will not be for sale for a while until the entire game is completed and tested and me and rick discuss licensing.[/b]

oh yeah we've had a btrieve engine up, then switched to powerlink odbc, then back to btrieve, and now running on SQLite.Franchise_24 wrote:Saw this back from '08 and figured I'd ring in and see what the word is on TA? How's it coming? Years in the making now, is it getting any closer to being released to run on peoples systems?
Thanks!
this newest is the best though faster, just overall better.
i have a standard vanilla engine which is identical to the original, then i have a decked out version loaded with new stuff.

Shouldnt be to much longer, beta tests are going well with the early builds of the SQLite version. Very stable with a few users in play no conflicts with other modules so far.

what ya wanna know? its still being tested, there was a few issues where it wasnt actiing quite like the original so i had to make some adjustments,Franchise_24 wrote:Sure would like to hear an answer from Dan......
but now its acting fine:
there's still a few things not like the original but nothing to halt production just some cosmetic stuff.
between the worldgroup module, the standalone java server, the mobile client, and the facebook app i been busy with this thing.
your best method of contact with me would be either arczone.proboards.com, sysop@azonebbs.dyndns.org, my listserver, or via theswampbbs.net which is my dedicated beta site ran by another sysop.Franchise_24 wrote:Sure would like to hear an answer from Dan......
i been really busy porting my entire catalog from btrieve to sqlite for all wgnt stuff and finalizing any wg2 stuff i got so i can focus more time on the tele-arena stanalone java console app.
