My System took a lickin' but kept on kickin'

Post by Malakai »

I guess some spam bot found out I had opened up my pop3 and smtp servers, but luckily, I had turned bouncing messages off. In the audit trail this morning, I saw a massive ammount of email attempts, between 4:02am and 4:12am, appx 1000 or so attempts per minute, all coming from this ip:
72.47.70.113

You were lucky, I didn't have my bouncing messages turned off, and I didn't think I would ever get things back to normal!

Well, I reported it to their ISP and sent the huge audit trail from beginning to end as proof... will see if they reply or just say "hey, you deal with it" heh..
