Hi, I'm an Ex-Sysop from way back in 1991 and I've been lurking around on and off to see whats going on with Worldgroup. I'm glad the MajorBBS Retoration Project got started a while back. I've got quite an Archive of Major BBS Modules and WorldGroup Modules laying around on some hard drives and I'm thinking about re-loading my WorldGroup.
Have any of you thought about how nice it would be to have a Demo Server available to be able to check out all the modules available for Worldgroup. I had a server on-line a while back that I used to explore Worldgroup's potential in ANSI, ACTIVE-H, and CLIENT SERVER MODE.
Among other things I had and MADM Game Server, ANSI Doors Server, SynchroNet Door Server, TradeWars Game Server, Web Cam Capabiltiy in Teleconference, Genesys Database linked to ActiBase Datebase for HTML Data Output, Java Telnet, Java FTP, Jave IRC, a pretty nice Top Level Menu Structure and a bunch of other stuff that I played with over the years.
I'm not a programmer, but I like to get in and tinker with things to see what they can do.
Let me know if you guys have any ideas.

I like a number of your ideas. Particulary database/html output/access, and the webcam idea. I'm not a programmer either, but I like to keep a couple of systems up to work with.Syclops wrote:Hi, I'm an Ex-Sysop from way back in 1991 and I've been lurking around on and off to see whats going on with Worldgroup. It contains 3876 Files in 165 Folders. I'm not sure what all is there but I'll see about getting it on-line in the future.

mostly the stuff you dont have access too are wg development related things like source codes,etc...Syclops wrote:Hi, Yeah I'm on your system. I just signed up the other day as Syclops. How do I get access to download all the files, some of them say I don't have access. The files that I've got are pretty much sorted out by ISV and are a legit MBBS and WG stuff, no cracks, hacks or other stuff like that.
what files are you trying to get? ill give you access.
i do that so people dont leech everything and stick it on the net somewhere.
