Hi just wanted to mention webring.com is running a pop up if you are listed with them,
ABSOULUTLY

's me to see a web ring start running pop ups on sites that attempt to adverstise with them.
I open a web browser to my site and see a F'n pop up I am PISSED to say the least. ADMIN's at webring you had better contact me ASAP.

I'm the admin for the Worldgroup BBS webring. I haven't changed anything on the ring and when I checked the settings, I don't see anything about pop-ups. I also never got any notification from them that they were changing anything. But it did the same thing on my site so it must be getting pushed down from Webring itself, rather than the admins of the individual rings.
On the bright side, it appears to only show up once. When I reload the page or even shut down my browser and restart, it hasn't shown up again.
I agree this should not have been done, period. But it looks like it may just be a one-time thing. I'll keep my eyes on it.

Let us know when they have ceased this kind of operation and I will possibly enable the webring again, if they make some assurance of no more pop up or other garbage.
You may want to let them know when they converted to the new/upgraded system I can not login to my account nor get a response from tech support to fix my account. I am likely not the only one with problem.
If the pop up remains it wont matter I will be done with that organization..
