Wow! I can't believe I haven't posted a link to my BBS yet.
I started The Penalty Box in 1993 running Renegade. Over the years, it has also run under WWIV, Synchronet, and Major BBS 6.25. In 2002 I bought Worldgroup 3.2 and re-created the entire thing from scratch. This is the version of the BBS that is still running today.
Last year I upgraded to The Major BBS v10, and finished adding TONS of DOS Door games to the line-up. I think there are now over 300 games available between DOS doors and MBBS modules. Plus, lots of other retro crap that I've thrown into the mix over the years.
What makes The Penalty Box different? It's not a MajorMUD BBS! While I do run MajorMUD, I have never advertised that on any MajorMUD forums. If you see users on my BBS, they're likely playing Farwest Trivia or chatting in the Teleconference. I think this gives it more of the feel of the old "community" BBSes of the day.
Check us out anytime! I don't validate new users. You start with full access.

Re: The Penalty Box
It's clear a lot of time was involved into building this BBS, it's very well made and unique.
Thumbs up!
