Page pauses in menus

Page pauses in menus

Hi all,

Ok, this has annoyed me ever since I starting using MajorBBS back in the day....

The "Nonstop, Quit, or Continue?" prompt sometimes will appear when showing a menu. For menus, can't it just always show the entire menu? It's never more then a screenful. I don't want Nonstop because I do want pauses for actual information, just not when displaying a menu.

To recreate this, go into your File Library, edit a library, exit the editing and you'll get the prompt right after the "X...Exit the operations" menu line.

I don't recall experiencing this on other BBSes.. possibly because they clear the screen before showing a menu....?

I have a screenshot but there aren't file attachments here. No problem, the above makes it do it.

the major bbs/worldgroup injection method can act wonky when utilizing the clear screen [2j ansi code, it gets so bad that in my own games i quickly set nonstop then turn it back off after showing the menu because of this. one way i fixed it was i increased the screen size to 82x27 (2 more each way) on my system i can tinker with the screen width and lengths using =SW and =SL its easier to tinker if you have a globals package setup. this issue can also be toyed with using the status handler routine, if you have the sdk you can hard code some fixes for this.
