sure this ain't related to the sackopts bug? i know i had the same problems with 1.01.

When I've got an evening to spare, I'll see if I can get the old bbs running on a spare computer.

Something I just thought of... I've been dealing for years with a workaround for DOS WG's telnet lag bug. I know I've got it on 1.01, and I think 2.0 may've been affected? It's the whole SackOpts registry thing with Window's networking and all that. You can change a reg option to make it not laggy ...

just noticed this thread. i've got a zip of the bbs from like 1997 somewhere. it carried a decent majornet feed and it should have quite a few messages. if you're still looking for some, that is.
