Farwest trivia for WG3 NT
I have farwest trivia for WG 3 NT and the questions are getting old, there is an editor but it doesn't work when you use it.
If you use it and like say correct a typo after you save it, then the game won't even play with an error saying can't find the data base.
Maybe someone like Dan can fix it or make a new editor.
Sure be nice to update it and fix the typos users have been finding.

Does it have .vir files so you can start 'new' with your own trivia questions instead of trying to edit existing ones?banjaxster wrote:I have farwest trivia for WG 3 NT and the questions are getting old, there is an editor but it doesn't work when you use it.

what version? and do you have all the patches?banjaxster wrote:Yes it has vir files, but the ones i use are the same since it won't let you edit them.
The vir files are what has the typos and are old.
you have to install 2.X and patch to 2.15, I think.
it did this when I added the disney database, it takes hours to import stuff and you also get this error if you go down before import is done. I forget what I did to stop the errors thou.

Farwest trivia for WG3 NT
I have farwest trivia wg30nt v5.0 and under that in the audit trail it says
FWQ-Server wg30nt V2.10
FW: tele-trivia wg30nt v1.30
I have never seen or heard of any patches or addons for farwest trivia since
I bought it,though I think I was one of the last ones to buy it,it was supposed to be the whole farwest trivia suite with all the catagories.

the editor works fine you have to enable it as a module, like i use a page called FWEDIT and give my gameop access to enter it.banjaxster wrote:I have farwest trivia wg30nt v5.0 and under that in the audit trail it says

for the global trivia type TRIVIA HELP
i have all the BCR and structures from the original i got about 2 years ago so i could make an addon for it but then started on the tele-arena NT addon and never got around to it.
enable the question server as a module goto it and let me know if you have any problems, same with the global trivia.
what database version you have? im using the one with over 480k questions, so going through em all would be a pain in my ass

farwest Trivia
You can find the program but i don't think you can get a registration code.
As to the editor i have the editor setup as a module and it works but when you save any questions or question edit and exit,an error will pop up saying cant find farwest data base.
So thus I can't change any of the questions if i want it to work.

only problem I see is when I import another database,
it is always still looking for the .QQQ file or something,
even after it already imported it. so I have to keep coping
the file everytime I restart the system.
Re: farwest Trivia
i got the last fw released and it has no problems i know a few sysops said they had trouble with the question editor, just try arctic trivia, its new so ill be adding lots of stuff as sysops submit feedback.frcorey wrote:I have 5.0 and inporter cracked.dspain wrote:yeah that doesnt work on mine so maybe its just a specific version? shrug, no idea.banjaxster wrote:You can find the program but i don't think you can get a registration code.

best thing we should do is start a new trivia module, i got the engine done so now all we need is some beta testing sysops.
I use to run farwest trivia nt, and it had several problems. One problem basically didn't let worldgroup do its cleanup every time. Sometimes, it would work for a week, sometimes a month, but always, it eventually made the board not go through that cleanup period.
After taking that offline, my board has been running for like 3 or 4 months with out a crash or having to reboot or anything.

yeah im running a database that was i think 144,000 questions .. thats alot everytime i ran wgsridx to restore file integrity after a beta-tele-arena crash i know it took like 6-8m just to run through all the records so its huge, and that runs w/o error but again alot of sysops encounter problems.Malakai wrote:I use to run farwest trivia nt, and it had several problems. grab the Arctic Trivia beta, its pretty vanilla but hey it does the same job...
edit a question database, questions randomize and display to screen, all input is checked against the answer, when answered users get points based on the question.... tracks the user with the top score.
if ya wanna check it out send me a PM.
i wanna say Ren did those.frcorey wrote:I don't even see the owners name in the database so I don't even know who made them. prolly lots of fun typing thou.dspain wrote:i would need their permission.frcorey wrote:how about a FW database to your database converter?
I have a tv show and a disney database I really like.
if he gives we the ok and a structure ill write a converter.
