For any of you who may have been living under a rock the past two months and missed this announcment, Merlin, the creator of MegaMUD is back and developing a new client.

A website has been setup to keep people informed on the progress of the project.

As major milestones are met, the site will be updated with information.

Sounds great, it will function for Major Mud and Greater Mud. Any idea of a time frame to completion?

No time frame has been given. He's working on it in his spare time so hard to say how long it will take. Progress will be reported on the Gigamud website as there is something to report though.

3 new screen shots added to the bottom of the main page. Shows initial player setup, game server setup, and timed event setup.

Right on. I've been under a rock for about a decade. Nice to hear activity on the MUD front's.

Sadly this project has died it seems. Merlin isn't working on it any longer.

Thats too bad it sounded very interesting, any chance any part of it is stable enough to release and also and editor with it so Sysop's could work on it?

I asked Merlin if he would consider releasing the source code for what he has done so far. Even had a C# programmer lined up to pick up the project. He never replied to my request though.

That's sad... I remember working with these guys when MajorMUD first came out (I wasn't able to get TA because of his exclusive licensing elements so I jumped on MajorMUD as soon as I could).

So long ago... =)
