RLogin setup.

Post by VeNoM »

This may seem like a dumb question, but i'm attempting to setup rlogin on my board, wg2, and having some problems.

I'd like to allow rlogin connection inbound, I'm using vircom major tcp/ip, telnet's working just fine, i have the option "Should we accept rlogin calls too?" set to yes, and port 513 forwarded to the board, but rlogin calls time out. What am I missing? Is there a channel group i need to setup for rlogin? Is there another option which enables it?

Thanks.

make sure the key required for rlogin access isnt SYSOP

with major tcp/ip the channel group TELNET will work fine for rlogin connections.

what are you coming from? wgnt -> wg2 or what?

i do

WG3 -> synchronet message server (sync1)
WG3 -> syncyhronet door server (sync2)
WG3 -> Tele-Arena 5.6d Win32 Server (tawin)
WG3 -> TWGS server (twgs)
WG3 -> Tradewars II server (tw500t)
WG3 -> Worldgroup 2.00 bbs (wg2)

all using the rlogin protocol and seemingly with no issues as of yet.

Yep, that direction is easy. I ran The Underground with a Sync sub-bbs for years for TW2002 and Lord. Worked flawlessly.

Rlogin INTO the wg system is what i was having problems with. Eventually got it to work iirc, it was a firewall thing. But by then we'd decided to take a different route anyway.

you may have to edit level 4 option for how many connections to allow, i think its 2 by default.
