email verifier for wg nt?
Is there an obtainable email verifier for worldgroup nt now? one that will send out an email for telnet, and then not require it for dialup lines?
Re: email verifier for wg nt?
I have one. It's from High Velocity Software.Malakai wrote:Is there an obtainable email verifier for worldgroup nt now? one that will send out an email for telnet, and then not require it for dialup lines?
I have a WG3.X verssion but you need a reg code to get it to work.
Ask arround some one (Questman) may have the rights to it.

Well, it looks like HVS is the only one and we're stuck without any until/unless rick can get it, or unless/until HVS decides to release or sell their products again (crossroads of the elements ported to nt - come on!!! That game, I'd probably pay $150 for if it was completely bug-free. Or if it'd be free open-source, that'd be even better!)
Crossroads of the elements? never.Malakai wrote:Well, it looks like HVS is the only one and we're stuck without any until/unless rick can get it, or unless/until HVS decides to release or sell their products again (crossroads of the elements ported to nt - come on!!! Guile won't sell a reg code or release the source,
people have been begging him for years.
but, he did strip a mbbs down into a COTE server.
now he has a dedicated game server for it.
and he does still work on that.
ah, I see he is porting it into java now.

Yeah, I've seen that before. It's possible that he just wants to be the only one running crossroads on a telnet server when each and every dos mbbs/wg system with crossroads goes offline.
I'm not even sure if there are any BBSes left with crossroads on now, but I do know there are several WG systems out there on bbs lists that never make it to newsgroups and such where i'm always looking...
Too bad, because there were many bbs systems out there with it at one time. I would have loved to gotten ahold of a few of the local owners of mbbs systems that went down but have had no luck.
One of the largest mbbs/worldgroup systems around was called dragon's keep. They had pretty much every mod made I think and even had the *nix version of mbbs or worldgroup from what i've heard. That's where I first saw infinity complex but didn't really get a chance to play it back then. They even had a DMA server I believe.
Imagine having that large of a system, for a DMA server today. One could literally be the largest BBS (or group of them) on the net with that setup, as long as they had the bandwidth to support it and a good advertising strategy.

I have xroads for my mbbs system but no one calls anymore.Malakai wrote:Yeah, I've seen that before. It's possible that he just wants to be the only one running crossroads on a telnet server when each and every dos mbbs/wg system with crossroads goes offline.
