Hey all:
First off, shout out to DSPAIN for his help getting my system back online today! Thanks Dan!!!
I now am ready to setup FidoNet on the system and then there are just tweaks left to get it customized... right now it is "out of the box".
I need step by step help and actually including setting up the "tosser" (gateway) and getting the messages in and out of my system via Telnet. I left two channels unconfigured for this use.
Help is very appreciated!
Thanks,
Mike Needham
(telnet://teobbs.dyndns.org) Be kind, the system is under construction!

Hi All:
I have obtained MajorFido and been reading the documentation. It looks straight forward enough except that it still relys upon Front Door.
I am actually now running WG2 instead as I think there was a timer issue in my MBBS.
The main issue is going to be getting the system to Toss mail via Telnet instead of via Modem. Anyone ever had this working? If so, would like to hear from you.
Thanks,

Thanks,
majorfido may not have tcp/ip relay capabilities.
there are dos versions of programs like irex,argus,etc.. that you could call in the bbs cleanup batch file to place the recieved echoes, send the replies, then load the bbs and let majorfdo pick up the deliveries and post em accordingly.
another option could be like i do, let synchronet or another win32 based program handle fidonet and such and have a link on your web server to the web handler of synchronet for reading.nitromike2006 wrote:Hi All:

Thanks,
i do that to handle fidonet, rimenet, dovenet, rpgnet, and arcticnet.
that way i can still offer my QWK networks as well as others.
plus alot of fido echoes can be handled via NNTP and majortcp/ip can handle newsgroups for ya.
just create a crossover module like i did that would automatically create an account on the synchronet bbs based on the bbs userid.nitromike2006 wrote:Hi All:

Thanks,
then i added options to my WG forums menu to read say Fidonet Echoes
they select * it jumps em over to the synchronet bbs and throws em right into the fidonet echo.
same for the rest of my networks.
