Ok I posted a message just a few minutes ago. I has sorta given up, not having seen any messages and the WL sysop telling me the reason was not traffic.

hehe the Worldlink system would work the best unless we want to start over from scratch and I don't think we really want to do that, if for no other reason then the time it would take :)

I haven't been able to connect for a couple of days. Maybe another system should be considered.

The Worldlink system is the most resent network code and we have access to it so Worldlink would be our best bet just not with Worldgroupware :)

With a new server we would have a system to start building the community with a new Link and Forum system.

It will all come together soon you can count on it :)

Well worldlink.worldgroupware.com is back online but no messages transmitted so the best I can tell is they still have the configuration fubared and it is a dead network for now :(

As dspain said another reason to put up a new one ;)

How much bandwidth do you think the network would take up? I'm just wondering as I have a VPS but can't DOS the node ...

Hopefully, someone takes you up on it as it's a needed feature. I would love to see network mail working again.

I have never had a problem connecting to Worldlink, I just have never received any forum (or email) messages.

If someone gives me their WG mail and wg domain, I'll try sending them a worldlink email.

I got two messages both came in as Internet emails, meaning the return address was IN:email@domain.com. So I guess my question is how was this sent via Worldlink?

BTW Thanks for all the help with this testing Toyduck :)

Interesting; I have SMTP and POP3 disabled on my system, don't use it at all. I sent two messages becasuse I didn't think the first one went through, but used the WL: prefix for Worldlink.

It also took long enough for the forum message, maybe it's just slooooow...?

But if post a list of forums somewhere, I'd be happy to enter them on my system, we might actually see some messages if we were all using the same forums, no?

Do you have a quick start guide to setting up WL forums? :D I know, that sounds weird but I've been out of touch with such things over the last few years.

Yea, I actually found it just after posting and got forums working to my liking. Maybe I can create a mod to help add a tagline to the bottom of WL messages for better advertising options 8)

Provided that I don't keep making simple mistakes in my dev as I've been having a heck of a time to get anything to work when compared to the skeleton module.

The kind of problem where I need to learn how to put semi-colons after my int statements so I don't pull my hair out...LOL

Yea, a sig mod would be cool. I'll add it to the largely growing list of things I have to write. I'm writing a simple mod right now just to hone my skills since it's been a LONG time.

That would be alot easier if we can get them auto update or automatically generate the formums conected to WL.

Ok i have WL up and now connected.
Now to get Ml working(mail link),mail link is the one with the forums not worldlink.
WL lets you talk to other people on other boards through your wl tele channel.
Mail link has a big list of foums that you setup so you can share your forum messages with other boards,I haven't had a message from this in a long time.Marc at dialsoft was the hub i used to have but I think he has stopped being the hub.
How to be the ML hub would be a good question to be answered.

yeah i was referring to the hub software to act as a hub.
i have a fidonet hub running here at the house, that hubs fidonet, doornet, and dds file distribution echoes, if i had the room i'd put a hub up.
