Quicksilver runs off a dual 2.8 xeon server with 2GB RAM

My Test Server runs off a AMD 3800x2 with 3GB RAM

The AMD is HELLA faster but the xeon cost me a lot more. Go figure.

majormud players would play at keys more if metro hadn't abandoned the code and quit coming out with modules. They are a lame company with dimwitted employees. Owning one of the largest majormud (if not worldgroup) bbs's around, I have seen majormud players come and go for a while now. Usually the ...

err, can I get that link? I would'nt mind converting my system to modern btrieve. Well technically you dont NEED the builder to convert your system to btrieve 9.5 Only if you want to use the dat files in a PHP site, etc Either way here is the link http://www.pervasive.com/developerzone/sdk ...

For a while I had an entire phpBB recoded so that it gets the userdata from WG to login to the forum as well as the fact that it offered the ability to change your BBS settings via the forum. It also listed all the accounts MajorMUD characters with their race/class/level. Unfortunatly when the ODBC ...

Not sure why the rose would have problems, but with the new system if your interested there is a builder program on pervasive's site (i can give you a link if needed) where you can build the ddf files for all the dats and they can be accessible dynamically via ODBC for use in a PHP site, etc. Also ...

I don't think you would EVER need that kinda bandwidth. I was running a BBS with about 50+ users for a while on cable (and we know cable uploads arent worth jack) and there were no lag issues.

Quoted from a Vircom Rep I apologize for the delay. We actually do not sell a DMA Server for Worldgroup/NT. What we do have is a DMA Server for Worldgroup Dos and a DMA Client for Worldgroup/NT. You would need to purchase both and would need to get a Worldgroup/DOS system running for the DMA Server ...

Gamenet Server

I dont know if you guys are familiar with this at all, but several years ago there was a company called WorldNet in Ohio that ran a server called Gamenet which several different BBS's connected to to play games like MajorMUD, TeleArena, etc. I would really like to get one of these types of systems ...

Your awesome! Thats exactly what I need. I dont use worldgroups built in web server so the dat files all I need. The new version of btrieve (9.5) has a built in SQL feature so i can get it all dynamically through odbc.

Only question is where can I get the module?

good luck with metro. After not seeing an update from them in what 2 years? I dont think they care about majormud anymore.

What is the datablock you speak of? I'm a php/sql programmer, not much of a btrieve one ;)

Also, I'll be home all day so you can msg me via aim and I can get you what you need.

Anyone up for creating a small WG3 app?

I'm basically looking for someone skilled enough to create a small WG3.3 application that prints whos online, how long they have been online, and in what module they are in, to a btrieve dat file every (1-5 seconds) or so. I can supply WG dev kit and borland 5.0 if need be. Let me know if any of you ...
